January 19th, 2007 - A Blogging Manifesto that’s Built to Last

Not long ago I had the pleasure of interviewing Robert Scoble. I plan to share more notes from our conversation in future posts, as well as a feature article for BizTech magazine, but let’s start with this tidbit.  One question that I’ve quite enjoyed asking popular bloggers lately is … ‘what was your best, or most rewarding, post?’

The initial response is always the same: “Wow, that’s a tough one … (long pause) ….”

Mr. Scoble eventually settled on his corporate blogging manifesto, a post created after he accepted his position at Microsoft, and one that he describes as a set of guiding principles he set for himself before starting the job that would make him one of the most prominent voices in the blogosphere.
Not too many blog posts from 2003 stand the test of time, but this one has some enduring tenets that are worth revisiting.
